Ribbons were slashed all over town as the Dunwoody Chamber of Commerce helped to celebrate grand openings and milestones among Dunwoody businesses. 

“The city of Dunwoody is excited to welcome these new businesses. Entrepreneurs play an important role in keeping Dunwoody’s economy growing and innovating,” said Dunwoody Director of Economic Development Director Michael Starling. 

Over the past few weeks four restaurants, Alison’s Restaurant on Chamblee Dunwoody Road Café Sababa Mediterranean Grill on North Shallowford Road, New York Butcher Shoppe and Tilted Kilt Pub & Eatery, both on Mt. Vernon Road., held ribbon cuttings to celebrate their opening in the city.  “Each one brings a distinctive culinary approach to the experience they offer their diners in newly remodeled spaces,” according to a statement from the chamber.  

Also opening its doors was Regency Home Care of North Atlanta on Mt. Vernon Road.  Owner Erich Schuetz said that he created Regency Home Care “because of my own personal experiences with aging parents and the difficult decisions that need to be made to proactively ensure their health and well-being.”  Regency provides assistance so that individuals may stay at home with the care they need to remain independent.  

Atlanta School of Massage at Dunwoody Park South is celebrating 30 years in Dunwoody. It is the largest accredited massage school in the Southeast, with 5,500 graduates. The school offers day and evening classes as well as SensAbility, the teaching clinic of the School and it’s skin care program, Atlanta Institute of Aesthetics.

Another established business, The Dunwoody Neighbor Newspaper, celebrates moving to a new location on Chamblee Dunwoody Road.  B. Thomas Clark, managing editor of Neighbor Newspapers, said, “We have had our office in DeKalb for over 40 years and when we saw space available in Dunwoody Village, it was an opportunity we couldn’t pass up.” 

Certainly these celebrations attest to the vitality of the area, noted, Chamber Director Debbie Fuse. “The chamber is proud to be a partner in creating a vibrant community, so that Dunwoody remains a great place in which to do business, to work in and to play,” she said.
