Four murder suspects nabbed

The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office Fugitive Squad made four arrests in murder cases over the past two weeks.

Ahmad Gill, 31, was arrested on Nov. 24 and charged with the murder of pro wrestler Chris Long, according to DeKalb County Police spokeswoman Mekka Parish. Long, who worked security at Shooter Alley on Buford Highway, was shot and killed Nov. 21 at the club.

No bond has been set for Gill.

Also, Erik Lecal Burris was arrested Nov. 22 for the murder of Kenneth Barnes a week earlier. Burris was arrested at the Rainbow Clothing Store at 20 Broad St., SW, near the Atlanta Five Points Marta Station, according to Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Tressa Washington. Burris was employed as an unarmed security guard and was on duty at the time of arrest.

According to the warrant, Burris shot Barnes during an armed robbery attempt at 4410 Tree Mountain Parkway at Hampton Village Apartments in Stone Mountain.

Adrian James Murdock, 21, was arrested Nov. 19 at his home at 2110 Mallard Way in Lithonia and charged with murder in the killing of Breon Sims, according to the DCSO. According to the police report, Murdock and Sims were involved in an altercation which resulted in the shooting.

Eddie James Benton, 21, was arrested Nov. 16 in connection with the killing of Derrick Holmes on Oct. 29. Benton was charged with murder, possession of cocaine, aggravated stalking, battery, violation of family violence order and domestic violence, according to the DCSO.

Holmes was found lying in the doorway of a room at the Glenwood Inn, at 4460 Glenwood Road in Decatur and was later pronounced dead.

Benton was arrested at the Century Park Apartments in Duluth.

All four men are in the DeKalb County Jail.

kenneth barnes was a good person for one my brother was shot ova something stupid it shouldnt havent lead to death and we are havening very hard without him beening here and we really dnt no anything about wat happen because for one the only thing we knoww he was shot and from the shooting and from cardiagerrest and the police officers was not palight and while he was in pain he should have been trying to get help and thats why it cause death ...... we going to put this in god hand and let him deal with it R.I.P .....LVE UUU WITH ALL MY HEARTT <333

first of all the dcso didnt pick adrian up from that address. we let hem know that the best thing to do was turn hisself in. the detective met us outside of dcso, .I was with hem when he did. it was the next day after the altercation. adrian is not a bad person. he has a very good heart. just has a bad temper that went to far. it was self defense. he was feared for his life. they didnt say anything bout the victim having A WEAPON!! AND IT WASNT OVER MONEY!!!!! I am sorry that someone had to lose there life. if dcso is goin to post information, they atleast need to get it rite.
