Fourth lawsuit filed against Bishop Eddie Long

A fourth former congregant of New Birth Missionary Baptist Church has sued Bishop Eddie Long, claiming he had a sexual relationship with the nationally known pastor.

Spencer LeGrande was 15 years old when he met Long at a New Birth satellite church in Charlotte, N.C., according to a press release from attorney B.J. Bernstein, who also represents the three other plaintiffs. LeGrande and his mother were among the church’s founding families, the statement said.

Long took LeGrande on several international trips – similar to the other plaintiffs – including Kenya and South Africa. LeGrande also relocated to Atlanta to attend Beulah Heights University at Long’s request. Their relationship began during the trip to Kenya and last through LeGrande’s time in Atlanta.

The lawsuit and specifics were not immediately available.

Jamal Parris, a 23-year-old former church congregant now living in Colorado Springs, Colo., also claims Long lured him into a relationship in his teens after his mother joined Long’s Lithonia church around 2001, according to the lawsuit filed Wednesday in State Court of DeKalb County.

Two similar lawsuits against Long were filed Tuesday. Anthony Flagg, 20, and Maurice Robinson, 21, in separate suits, claim Long forced them into sexual acts in return for money, cars and trips.

The suit alleges that the sexual encounters began when both Flagg and Robinson were 16 years old. The encounters began after both men were enrolled in Longfellow Youth Academy. Flagg was 16 and Robinson was 14 when they entered the Academy.

Rumors have it that the DeKalb Board of Commissioners will wear SPANX in honor of Their Spiritual Leader at the next meeting. CEO Burrell Ellis is in SPANX already to show support.

Bishop Long:
Posing in Spanx and sending pics to young boys is not what real men or men of God would do. And what is done in the dark will come out in the light. This will be a tough one for you.
