X marks the loss

MARTA buses and trains were painted with red Xs on April 20 in conjunction with two MARTA Matters rallies at the Five Points train station in downtown Atlanta. The Xs signify the potential loss of service that will happen if no financial remedies are approved before MARTA’s 2011 fiscal year budget is adopted at the end of June. Several bus routes and train schedules will be affected. Transit supporters wanted to draw attention to the economic impact and quality of life that the bus and rail system brings to metro Atlanta.
