UPDATE: Sheriff Thomas Brown will kick-off the DeKalb County Sheriff's Office Haiti disaster relief efforts today at 2 p.m. with a personal donation of $1,000.

The Sheriff’s Office will be accepting monetary donations at a station set up outside the Sheriff’s headquarters building at 4415 Memorial Drive, which is near the Memorial Drive exit off Interstate 285. The station will be active on the following days and times:

Friday, January 15, 2010 1 p.m. – 5 p.m.

Saturday, January 16, 2010 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Sunday, January 17, 2010 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Monday, January 18, 2010 7 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Checks should be made payable to Rotary District Charitable Fund, Inc.

We are appealing to our own employees and the general public to contribute.

We would be most grateful if you would partner with us in our efforts to assist the people of Haiti. Please help us by agreeing to broadcast from our donation site, by announcing our relief efforts to the public, and in any other way that you deem effective.

Thank you for helping in any way that you can.

Sincerely,
