Teen girl charged in the killing of 2-year-old sister

A 13-year-old girl has been charged in the killing of her 2-year-old half-sister.

DeKalb County police spokeswoman Mekka Parish said the teen has been charged with murder in the killing of Sasha Ray. The teen made her first court appearance Nov. 20 in a DeKalb magistrate courtroom where a judge read her charge of murder.

The teenager reportedly was babysitting her siblings on Nov. 19 at the family’s condominium on Waldrop Trail in Decatur while her parents were away. The teen called her parents, saying Sasha was missing. When the parents returned home they began searching for the 2-year-old with the teen’s help.

Sasha was found by her father, Shelton Ray, behind the home.

Parish said emergency dispatchers received a call from Ray shortly before 1 p.m., but then he put down the phone. Ray was taking the child to the hospital himself when an emergency vehicle met him along the way. Sasha was later pronounced dead.

“The cause of death is multiple stab wounds to the chest,” Parish said. “We think the child was assaulted inside the home then the girl moved her body outside behind the house.”

After the teen was taken to the police station for further question, she called and confessed to her stepfather that she was Sasha’s killer, according to reports.

Parish said she thinks the 13-year-old was upset about something.

“What she was upset about has not been determined,” she said.

She should be punshish like an adult she did the crime of an adult. A 2 year ole that could not defend herself. i do not care about her age she took a life cause she was mad. Hell stab a tebby bear .
