DeKalb County District Attorney Robert James will serve as a speaker for a two-day discussion focused on combating elder abuse in Georgia. The lecture begins Oct. 11 at 5:30 p.m. at Emory Law School’s Tull Auditorium, 3rd Floor, located on 1301 Clifton Road in Atlanta.
The Oct. 12 lecture begins at 8:30 a.m. in the same location.
"Elder abuse has become a growing issue not only in DeKalb County but across the United States," James said. "Our office is committed to exposing the crimes that target our seniors and shine a light on the physical, mental and financial abuse suffered by countless senior victims on a daily basis across the country."
Additional speakers include: Probate Court Judge Jeryl Rosh, Emory University’s Dr. Thomas Price, Deputy Chief Assistant District Attorney Jeanne Canavan and Georgia Department of Human Services Division of Aging Services David Blake.
The event is sponsored by the DeKalb County District Attorney’s Office, Emory Law School Center for Advocacy and Dispute Resolution and Emory University Center for Health in Aging.
