DeKalb Sheriff’s fugitive squad arrested two suspects on Feb. 29 for homicide.
According to a news release, squad members arrested Darnell Adams, 28, for the Jan. 24 murder of Monty Lowe. Adams is accused of shooting Lowe seven times at Lowe’s Wesley Chapel Road residence.
Adams was arrested without incident at 1690 Camperdown Circle in Decatur and will be charged with murder.
In an unrelated case, the fugitive squad arrested 25-year-old Traci Lucille Luckey, who is accused of striking and killing Erron Butler on Nov. 30, 2011, with her 2007 Chrysler Sebring.
The incident took place in Conley at 2900 Moreland Avenue. Luckey is accused of leaving the scene of the accident without rendering aid or calling the police.
When questioned by police, Luckey said she was not driving the car. Joycecillia Morris, a friend of the suspect, corroborated Luckey’s claim by saying she gave Luckey a ride to work. When Morris learned she was covering a felony she recanted her story.
Luckey was charged with felony vehicular homicide, hit and run and giving false statements to police.
Both Adams and Luckey were booked into the DeKalb County Jail. A bond of $6,000 has been set for Luckey. Adams has been denied bond.
