DeKalb to open state’s first disabled-voter-accessible-only poll
DeKalb County CEO Burrell Ellis will announce the creation of Georgia’s first-disabled-voter- accessible-only absentee poll on Thursday, Feb. 2, at 1:30 p.m. at the county’s Board of Registration & Elections main location, 4380 Memorial Drive in Decatur.
The poll is designed to accommodate voters with disabilities and senior citizens and allows the county to offer enhanced services, such as assistance and appointments, to more efficiently serve voters with special needs.
The disabled-voter-accessible-only absentee poll will open for business when early voting begins on Monday, Feb. 13, for the March 6 presidential preference primary and special election.
The county will also kick off ONE DeKalb Vote, a non-partisan initiative to increase the number of registered voters and increase voter awareness.
