DeKalb CEO holds town hall meeting today

DeKalb County CEO Burrell Ellis will meet hold a town hall meeting Tuesday, Jan. 31, to give residents an opportunity to discuss and learn about county-related issues. The meeting will be from 7-8:30 p.m. at Ashford Park Elementary School, 2968 Cravenridge Drive NE, Atlanta.

Public hearing on Brookhaven scheduled for today at the state Capitol

The proposed city of Brookhaven will be the topic today at the Georgia State Capitol during a special public hearing.

Proponents and opponents will be able to voice their opinions Tuesday, Jan. 31, about House Bill 636. The bill would allow a vote on the cityhood of Brookhaven. The public hearing will take place during a meeting of the House Governmental Affairs Committee, 3-5 p.m. in Room 341 of the Capitol.

Anti-aging institute breaks ground in DeKalb today

The Harley Anti-Aging Institute and Atlanta Women’s Specialty Group will hold a groundbreaking ceremony Tuesday, Jan. 31, to kick off construction of its $1.3 million facility.

The Harley Anti-Aging Institute specializes in preventive health and strives to decrease the incidence of age-related diseases using a natural holistic approach.

The DeKalb Office of Economic Development assisted in expediting permitting and other county services for the company, which is expected to create 20 jobs.

The ceremony at 2 p.m. at 2678 Buford Hwy in Atlanta.

DeKalb legislative delegation holds hearing on redistricting today

The DeKalb Legislative Delegation will host a public meeting about the drawing of new district lines for the Board of Commissioners and Board of Education on Tuesday, Jan. 31.

The public meeting will be in the Maloof Auditorium located at 1300 Commerce Drive, Decatur, 6:30–8 p. m.
