A DeKalb teenager has been arrested and faces murder charges in the death of an 8-year-old boy, according to police.
The boy was shot July 6 in a home at 3579 Salem Glen Road in Lithonia at approximately 5:30 p.m., according to DeKalb County Police spokesman Mekka Parish. At the time of the shooting, the victim’s mother was in the house but was not in the room where the shooting happened, police said. The boy was taken to an area hospital and died later that night. It is not known whom the gun belonged to, police said.
