BOYS BASKETBALL
Miller Grove: The Wolverines won three games Dec. 6-10 to improve to 5-0. In a 57-53 overtime win at Southwest DeKalb, Tony Parker scored 15 points and Christian Houston added 11. The Wolverines also beat Lithonia 72-48 and Tucker 61-41. Justin Colvin scored 17 points against Lithonia and Parker had 21 points and 17 rebounds in the win over Tucker. Brandon Morris and Houston each had 12 points against the Tigers, while Morris had 11 rebounds and six assists.
Columbia: Jhaustin Thomas had 13 points, 10 rebounds and two blocks to lead the Eagles (6-0) to a 65-28 win over Woodward Academy on Dec. 6 in their only game last week. Nate Mason had 14 points for the Eagles.
Southwest DeKalb: The Panthers went 1-2 in games Dec. 6-10. The Panthers lost to Miller Grove 57-53 in overtime on Dec. 6. The game was tied 48-48 at the end of regulation. William Goodwin had 15 points, eight rebounds and five blocks, Justin Hollimon added 12 points and Jordan Price had 10. In an 83-43 win over Redan on Dec. 9, the starters played only half the game. Goodwin had 23 points, 12 rebounds and six blocks; Kadarius Turner had 13 points and five assists; Price had 11 points and seven assists; and Hollimon had 10 points. The Panthers lost 67-58 Dec. 10 to Ridgeway in Memphis. Price led with 20 points while Goodwin added 15 points and 12 rebounds.
Dunwoody: The Wildcats lost three games by a total of 12 points—Tucker 56-52 in overtime, Chamblee 65-58 and Lakeside 52-51. Bradley McKnight led with 17 against Lakeside and 12 against Tucker. David Ani and Paris Ballinger each added 10 against the Tigers. Against Chamblee, Richard Carrington scored 21 points and Ballinger added 13.
Stephenson: Derek Harper made a basket and a free throw with 7 seconds remaining to lift the Jaguars to a 66-64 win over East Coweta on Dec. 9. Harper finished with 25 points while John Bradley added 10 points and 10 rebounds.
Chamblee: Devin Bellamy had 24 points and 16 rebounds in a 65-58 win over Dunwoody on Dec. 9. Jockquel Jones added 13 points. The Bulldogs (6-0) also beat Carver-Atlanta 69-52 and Stone Mountain 64-48 last week. Bellamy had 20 points, Isaiah Mason added 13 and Jones had 10 against Carver. Jones led with 26 points in the win over Stone Mountain.
St. Pius: Nick Harris made all five of his field goal attempts and led the Golden Lions with 12 points and eight rebounds in a 52-45 loss to North Springs. The Golden Lions also beat Washington 38-36 and lost to Blessed Trinity 41-31.
GIRLS BASKETBALL
St. Pius: The Golden Lions cruised to three wins from Dec. 6-10 and improved to 7-0. Asia Durr scored 21 points and Sydni Payne added 10 in a 62-16 win over Washington on Dec. 6. In a 53-39 win over North Springs, Emma Ucinski had 14 points while Anna O’Donnell and Payne each scored 10. The Golden Lions also beat Blessed Trinity 54-31 with Durr scoring 13 points, Ucinski 11 and Payne 10.
Southwest DeKalb: The Panthers have won four in a row after starting the season 1-4. Nicole Martin had 13 points and 20 rebounds in a 43-31 win over Miller Grove on Dec. 6. Nicole Razor added 10. Razor led with 15 points in a 49-46 win over Redan on Dec. 9. Martin added 12 points and Jasmine Coleman had 13 rebounds.
Miller Grove: The Wolverines defeated Lithonia 58-18 on Dec. 9 and Tucker 39-27, but lost to Southwest DeKalb 43-31 on Dec. 6. Tashi Thompson had 16 points and Katie Hunt added 10 against Lithonia. Klarissa Weaver had 15 points and five blocks, and Tabitha Fudge had eight rebounds in the win over Tucker. Against Southwest, Thompson and Weaver each scored 11 points, and Weaver had eight rebounds.
Chamblee: The Bulldogs have won 37 regular-season games in a row after defeating Carver-Atlanta 67-35, Dunwoody 70-17 and Stone Mountain 68-25 in games Dec. 6-10. Against Carver, Lucy Mason scored 24 points; Bre McDonald had 17 points, 11 rebounds and six assists; and Chelsea Adams had 11 points and 12 rebounds.
Decatur: Queen Alford scored 67 points in three games Dec. 6-10 as the Bulldogs went 1-2. Alford scored 20 points and Jordan Dillard added 10 in a 54-34 loss to Lovett. In a 72-11 win over Jackson Atlanta, Alford scored 24 while Dillard added 15 and Jahmee Reeves had 10. Also, Alford scored 23 points and Dillard had 19 in a 76-12 win over McNair.

Dunwoody entered only six participants and three placed in the top four as the Wildcats placed eighth in the team standings among 14 teams. Sunni Sharma won the 113-pouind class, Matt Phipps was second at 138 and Tyler Lu placed fourth at 106.
Brookwood Invitational, Dec. 9-10,
Brookwood High School
Four DeKalb wrestlers won their weight classes in the tournament at the Gwinnett County school. Stephen Wylie (152 pounds) and Darion Perry (160) finished first for Stephenson, while Quinn Peragine (113) of St. Pius and James Philpot (180) of Redan also won their weight classes. Several other wrestlers from schools in the county placed among the top four. Dexter Brown of Stephenson was fourth at 106; Robbie Martin of St. Pius was second at 145; Lawton Ward of Marist was third at 170; and Jeron Holsey of Marist was fourth at 285. Stephenson placed eighth in the team standings among 20 teams.
