The DeKalb County Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying two suspects who shot and attempted to rob New China Express on Wesley Chapel Road on Monday.
Police responded to a call at about 11 p.m. Dec. 3 to an armed robbery in progress at the Chinese restaurant at 2402 Wesley Chapel Road.
According to the restaurant owner, two men broke into the back door of the restaurant armed with an assault rifle and shot gun.
The suspects told the owner they were there to rob the business and fired shots at the owner, hitting him in the leg and arm. The victim, also armed, returned fire but did not hit the suspects.
The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The first suspect is a Black male, 17 to 22 years old and about 5 feet, 4 inches tall and 140 pounds, wearing a black jacket with fur lined hood and armed with an assault riffle.
The second suspect is also a Black male, 17 to 22 years old and about 5-feet, 7 inches tall and 140 pounds, wearing a black jacket, a black Atlanta Braves cap and armed with a shotgun.
